TERMS OF SERVICE – The Handy Shop LLC.

Service Area

We provide handyman and home improvement services within:

\t•\tNew Jersey

\t•\tConnecticut

(collectively referred to as the “Service Area”).

By scheduling service, approving an estimate, paying a deposit, signing a work order, or authorizing work verbally or electronically, you agree to these Terms.

1. Nature of Handyman Services

We provide general handyman and property maintenance services, including but not limited to:

\t•\tTV mounting and wall mounting

\t•\tFixture and equipment installation

\t•\tJunk removal and hauling

\t•\tDrywall repair and patching

\t•\tMinor electrical repair and installation

\t•\tGeneral residential and light commercial repairs

Services are performed based on approved estimates, work orders, or written agreements.

We may refuse or stop work if conditions are unsafe, unlawful, or materially different from what was disclosed.

2. Estimates, Authorization & Contracts

All work requires customer authorization through at least one of the following:

\t•\tSigned service agreement

\t•\tWork order authorization

\t•\tDeposit payment

This authorization forms a binding service agreement.

Estimates are based on visible and disclosed conditions. Hidden damage, structural issues, wiring problems, or code deficiencies may require additional labor or materials. Any changes require approval and may affect price and timeline.

3. Deposits & Payment

Deposits

Deposits may be required to:

\t•\tPurchase materials or equipment

\t•\tSchedule multi-day work

\t•\tConfirm electrical or structural work

Deposits are non-refundable once scheduling is confirmed or materials are purchased, unless otherwise required by law.

If materials are purchased specifically for your project, you are responsible for their cost if the project is canceled.

Final Payment

Trip charges may apply if work cannot be completed due to access or safety issues.

Electrical work is performed consistent with applicable safety standards and licensing requirements where applicable.

Customer understands:

We are not responsible for delays related to inspections, approvals, or pre-existing non-compliant systems.

6. Wall Mounting & Structural Conditions

For mounting services, customer acknowledges:

\t•\tWall composition and structural integrity vary

\t•\tHidden wiring, plumbing, or structural components may exist

\t•\tDetection methods are reasonable but not invasive

We are not liable for damage caused by concealed or undisclosed structural conditions, prior improper construction, or weakened surfaces.

7. Junk Removal & Disposal Authorization

Customer certifies all items approved for removal:

\t•\tAre legally owned or authorized for disposal

\t•\tDo not contain undisclosed hazardous materials

We may refuse removal of unsafe, illegal, or hazardous items. Customer remains responsible for undisclosed materials.

8. Drywall & Cosmetic Finishing

Drywall repairs restore structural surface integrity. Unless specifically contracted:

\t•\tTexture blending may vary

\t•\tMinor cosmetic differences are normal

9. Property Damage Reporting

Damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of service completion.

We must be given reasonable opportunity to inspect and correct verified issues.

Failure to report within this timeframe constitutes acceptance of work condition.
